The short answer
Use Disc Creator for supported disc-writing and image workflows. Creating an ISO image and writing a physical disc are different tasks; physical writing needs a compatible optical writer and media.
Store files on a data disc
A data-disc project stores ordinary files. Check the target medium’s capacity and the destination device’s ability to read the files. A data DVD containing a video is different from an authored DVD-Video disc.
Prepare an audio CD for a compatible player
Use an audio-CD task for standard CD-audio playback, not a data project full of MP3 files. Review order and total playing time before writing. Follow the audio-CD guide for those checks.
Build or use a supported disc image
An ISO image is a file that represents a disc layout. Choose image creation when you need an image from files, or a supported image-writing task when you already have an image to burn. Review the target drive before a physical write.
Disc erasure requires suitable rewritable media; write-once CD-R/DVD-R media cannot be erased. The current supported tasks are free. Do not assume the app performs audio-CD ripping or complete DVD-Video authoring: read the ripping distinction and DVD format explanation.
